The shortage of water may hit the cities of Dar es Salaam and Pwani in the next two months, where the emergence of the challenge is after the decrease in the depth of water in the Ruvu river which supplies water to the citizens of the two regions. Various human activities together with the low amount of rain are among the reasons that lead to a decrease in the depth of water in the Ruvu river.

Acting Basin Water Director Wami/Ruvu Basin Water Board Eng. Elibariki Mmassy, speaking immediately after arriving and inspecting the source of water in the Ruvu River, said that the depth of water has decreased, unlike in September last year, he added that Human Activities and the lack of sufficient rains are the reasons that contribute greatly to the situation.
